Information about your Class

Class Length: This is a 1 day class and will run from 10am - 4pm

Class Skill Level: This class is suitable for baking beginners.

What will you be making: Learn Buttercream basics with LissieLou's in-house baker. 

In this class you will be finishing a vanilla cake which will be filled with Swiss meringue buttercream and covered in American buttercream. The cakes will be pre-baked for the class, but you’ll be talked through the recipe and given the recipe to take home.

You’ll l learn how to finish your cake with smooth sharp edges and decorate with an easy (but very effective!) palette knife technique. You’ll be able to choose your own colour palette for your cake to bring your personality into the final piece. This is a perfect design to make for your friends and family for any occasion. 

After the class: You will take home a beautifully decorated 5” vanilla cake in a box which will feed 12-16 people.

A flawless vanilla cake recipe which will be supplied to you by Becky. Baking will be done in advance, but recipe cards will be given out

Learn how to make two buttercreams, Swiss meringue buttercream and American buttercream

How to layer, fill and crumb coat your cake

How to apply the final coat of buttercream and achieve sharpe edges

Discuss colour palettes

How to use a palette knife to create a beautiful, flowing design

How to apply sprinkles and touches of gold paint
